AUTH LOGIN problem

I am receiving 100s of attempted AUTH LOGIN connections every day.  Often every minute.  This is a typical extract from the Connection History

 I initially blocked the IP addresses in Connection Control but there are now too many to practically do this.  I don't have AUTH LOGIN enabled.  Should I just ignore these connection attempts or do they need to be dealt with in some way.
